Dominick Cruz: I want to end the feud with Urijah Faber by annihilating him at UFC 148 – UFC news
Dominick Cruz, the current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight title holder, in an interview, commented that he hates Urijah Faber because he does not stops whining no matter what happens.
He added that he will put an end to the feud and will close the chapter once and for all by beating him at UFC 148.
Cruz and Faber are well known for their disputes and prior bouts. The duo met for the first time in World Extreme Cagefighting. Urijah collected an emphatic win over Cruz by making him submit via guillotine choke.
In order to avenge his defeat Cruz called on Faber in 2011. The bout continued for five rounds and after a brutal 25-minute session, Cruz came out victorious by grabbing a unanimous win. Cruz entered the UFC 132 octagon with a two-pronged agenda. He not
only defended his bantamweight title but also avenged his career’s only loss.
As expected, this time it was Faber who challenged Cruz to another skirmish. Both men have one win against each other and as per most analysts it was necessary to have another episode, a trilogy, which will definitively decide who the real champion is.
In a recent interview, Cruz, who will coach his 16-men squad against Urijah’s in UFC’s reality TV show ‘The Ultimate Fighter 15’, said that he is literally fed up of the monotonous questions about Faber and does not want to discuss the topic.
When asked to comment as to how he feels about being on the same show as Faber is, Dominick said that everyone knows he hates him adding that he does not stop at anything and he keeps on whining about things. Cruz remarked that he is just doing a job that
he loves the most.
The 26-year-old Dominator said, “It’s probably not the last time I’ll hear about it, he’ll never quit whining. It is what it is. The bottom line is I’m fighting him on [The Ultimate Fighter], we don’t like each other, it doesn’t really matter. There’s
a lot of people that go to work every day and dislike the person they work with.”
When asked to tell as to whether he is thinking of going up or down the divisions, Cruz informed that he loves to fight in his bantamweight division adding that he might move upward in near future but will definitely not move down the divisions.
Cruz stated, “And as for dropping down, out of the question, I couldn’t drop lower than 135 pounds.”
Dominick further added, “It could happen. I’m not going to turn that down. But right now I’m happy where I’m at. This is my best competition weight.”
In UFC 148, the UFC fanatics will witness a five-round extravaganza in which Cruz will defend his bantamweight title.
