  1. Nope...the age limit in gymnastics was raised after she competed. Do be fooled here, if the age was 14 or 13, the Karolys would have one or two on the American Team. They do follow the rules but don't put anything past their desire to win.

  2. She was 14 in 96 in ATLANTA olympics yes

  3. Considering Athens was in 2004, no.

  4. How about the 1998 France olympics?? or 2006 germany olympics??

  5. the IOC set the age limit in 97'

I hope you didn't think that you

    made this amazing discovery

    rules are rules, right

  6. I think it was 1997 that the 16 year age limit was imposed.  Prior to that it was 15 and then prior to that 14, but I don't recall the years each increase was made.  I do believe Dominique was the right age to participate when she did.

Edit: Didn't notice the "Athens" part. 1996 was not Athens.

  7. Before the 1980s, a gymnast had to be 15 or 16 to be in the olympics.

In the 1980s, the age limit was dropped down to 14. That was the reason why Dominique Moceanu was able to compete in the olympics in Atlanta. She was 14 going on 15 in '96. In 1997, the age limit was raised back up to 16.

  8. 1996 Athens?
