I don't get it. What if someone else initiates the "ask"? Can you tell then? "Yeah I am!" Lol! What do you say?

  1. It is a ridiculous policy.

It is a typical example of Bill Clinton playing both sides of the fence, trying to look like he was allowing g**s to join the military, without actually changing the anti-g*y policy.

g**s can still be kicked out of the military just for being g*y.

If someone "asks" you need to lie to stay in, which itself violates the military code of conduct.

So g**s in the military are "damned if they do, damned if they don't."

  2. You told and nobody asked!

  3. Don't ask don't tell basically says this:

We want you to join the military and risk your life for your country.  A country, by the way, that does not expect you to be able to be yourself or to be open about your life with your fellow soldiers, nor do we want them to inquire.  So when you DO die, and you probably will, you won't truly know anyone around you and none of them will know you.  So you get to die alone.  Sooo worth it, right?  So just sign here!

  4. Well in the policy they can't ask or investigate a person's orientation

as long as the person doesn't disclose that they are g*y or bi then they can serve in the military and people don't ask about it

  5. anyone can ask, whether you tell is up to you now isn't it? who says you have to answer at all?

  6. I don't get it either, could you elaborate you question a bit

  7. same thing has happened to me

once i said naa i dont think i am, and looked pretty shocked

then once a girl asked me out, i said nothing just had a this look on my face :o but with a smile.

but i guess they took that as a no..... but idk
