Today was the day for my s*x ed talk

arrived on time with props.

Told the folks this won’t take long

half an hour, tops.

I tried to keep it brief

I tried to keep it simple

I made my point that STD’s

are more serious than a pimple.

We talked about the meds they take,

we talked about the props.

we smiled at each other

all these Moms and Pops.

Some struggled with what words to use,

others with their feelings,

some stared at the floor,

some stared at the ceiling.

Yet, no one left the sunny room

they stayed and stayed and stayed

talked and laughed, ate cookies

great grandmas with condoms played.

The underlying thread today

from those way up in years

the thirst for closeness, for intimacy

from old age, take the fears.

Still a serious subject,

I still will not make light,

now I see more than ever,

there’s hope for my future tonight.

I got my s*x education in the back of a 1954 Oldsmobile 88 at the local drive-in theater.  Someone once said half the town was concieved there, it shouldn't have been torn down.

Oh my goodness! I can just picture all those seniors sitting around munching cookies and chatting casually about s*x!
