the real question is what to do with all the nut cases that use the most ridiculous logic to justify their silly little gun. Most of them are just cowards, don't you think?

  1. I'm intelligent and I do not agree with you.

  2. An armed society is a polite society.

If everyone had guns, crime would shoot down, that's already a proven fact, which you cannot argue against.

If somebody was killing your child, and you had a gun, what would you do? You'd shoot the b*****d, that's what.

Guns are not evil. Its the way people use them that is evil.

Should we ban knives just because some people use them as weapons rather then tools?

  3. >A LITTLE GUN HISTORY

    >In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

    >------------------------------

    >---- -------------------------

    >Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

    >------------------------------

    >It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,3 81 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

    >Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

    >While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

    >You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

    >Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

    >Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

    >The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

    >With guns, we are 'citizens'.

    >Without them, we are 'subjects'.

    >During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

  4. Richard P is obviously not one of the intelligent people you talk about if he expects anybody to swallow his "history".

I think he must watch a lot of Fox as truth is history while history is not truth as far as he is concerned.

Yes I do think as you do.

  5. A gun in my home prevented me from being beaten and my wife from being raped, I think I'll keep my gun thank you. I do agree though that far more could be done to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the unstable without interfering with anyone's right to bear arms. The gun lobby is not doing us any favours by fighting every single gun control proposal tooth and nail irregardless of its merits. Unfortunately like almost every social problem the US faces, progress on this one is paralysed because of extremists on both sides of the issue...and the powerful lobbies making a mint off the status quo.

  6. No - it is a right that has to be protected like all the others.

How about we open the mental health records of those "nut cases" so the police and the federal government can update their background records so they show up on checks?

But wait we can't as their privacy is important .

Which are you willing to lose?

Your sense of safety or your sense of privacy?

  7. Ban cocaine first. Then, if the bad people can no longer get any cocaine, it will prove that if we ban guns, the bad people won't get them too. Let me know how it works.

Life in a world where only the bad people have guns is a very scary idea. I won't go along with that at all. You just saw what happens when only the bad guy has the guns.

My silly little gun might save my life or your life or some child's life someday when the bad guy comes after us. And I will not give it up. Ever. No matter what ban you get passed. See the problem?

  8. We should NOT legalize guns for the same reason we do NOT legalize WMDs

    Duh

  9. No.  I have a right to have a gun in my home legally to defend myself against a rapist or burglar who breaks into my house with a gun he may have bought illegally.  If we ban guns altogether then only the criminals will have them.  Does that sound like a good idea to you?  I sure hope not.  People who use guns to hunt for food should be able to own them legally as well.  Besides, free range venison is organic!

  10. If guns are banned the only ones with guns will be the police and the criminals.

  11. I agree that handguns should be banned, they have no purpose other than to kill another person.  BUT, I live in North Dakota, and about 1/3 to 1/2 of our meat comes from legal hunting.  I WILL NOT accept any ban that takes our rifles and shotguns away.  I have no problem with registration though.

  12. totally agree, and since so many many many more are killed by cars, all us intelligent americans totally agree that we should ban cars.

  13. Thank you for the two points.....
