Question:

Don't drive?

We all know that boycotts will do nothing to lower the price of gas. Instead of not buying gas on may 2. Lets have a no drive day. Nobody drives. Wouldn't that be totally awesome? Not one car on the road. Yea, I know it won't help either. But, it would be fun.

  1. lets do it im down!

  2. i walk / ride a bike all year to work, to the store, to wherever. Only time I drive is when I leave the state.

For the people who say its too far. One doc i work with rides his bike 56 miles per day to work. so come up with another excuse.

  3. Man I dont think u'll get much support for this

  4. umm people have jobs....

  5. Good idea.  I can bike for a day.

  6. Good idea? Yes.

But lets face it the american people are a lazy bunch and are not going to give up driving even if they have to pay more for gas. They may though find other means of transportation, if it doesn't require too much work. Like lying to a friend and saying that you car broke down so they can take you to work....But never would a majority of todays americans ever go a day without driving.( I mean in a work week)

  7. it would be fun to miss work/school for all of us by using the excuses we couldn't walk/bike there, it was to far away

    IM FOR IT :D

  8. actually it would help alot about 3% of the price would go down believe it or not....

god, im 15 and i know that

  9. sorry i gotta race my friends car on the 2nd

    oh **** thats tomorrow ****!!!!

  10. Good idea. Not that it would help gas prices at all, but it would help FAT, LAZY, STUPID people get off their butts and onto a bike.

Lauren, I rode my bike 45 miles in one day last summer. Some people can do 175 in a day.  I think you can handle your commute on one.

  11. you no i honestly think it would make a differance.. you no how much money they loose if no one needs gas! it would be intence! hehe  and it would def make the news :)

  12. Dude that's friday.... we got dates and stuff to do that night.... c'mon. I would love to see the gas prices go down though.... Ridiculuous (sp)!

  13. That would be awesome to not have the traffic problems we have here in the NE, Contrary to your belief, the high cost of gas does affect you weather you ride a bike to work or not.

It affects our economy, which in turn effects all of us one way or another. Wish I could ride my bike to work! I'd get killed w/ the traffic here in NJ! LOL

  14. Nice thought.

  15. i live  51 miles from work....can't call in sick but i can do the boycotts and i do own a hybrid. i am boycotting on May 2 and May 15 and anyother boycott day i hear, i also carpool as often as possible. would be really cool though

  16. Hooray for that. Finally somebody with sense. not driving is way more health conscious, environmentally friendly and financially sound. So let's not drive for a while a see if America can burn in calories what Exxon makes in dollars.

  17. If you can come up with a workable suggestion to get my kids 40klms in 1 hour then it is totally doable for us.

Good on you for trying to come up with fun ways to make a difference. I hope some of your friends help you out.
