  1. if your camera connects via a scart lead, you can apply 12 volts to pin 8 of the scart [relative to ground] this should make the TV switch automatically


  2. Invest in a Goodmans replacement remote control  (Gtv76w2sil) £14.95 or a Universal remote.  www.remote-control-shop.com/

    It will take away all the hassel.
