For my destination wedding I am sending Save the Date magnets 8 months in advance. Should I include lodging information, different condos, other activities, resturaunt info or should I wait until I send the invitations?

  1. When I sent my save-the-dates, I sent the date and the website for the resort we are having it at, so people could go online and view the location, the area, etc. if they chose to.  Then I sent more specifics with the actual invite.  If you try to include too much, you will waste time, paper and postage on some that will not end up attending anyway.

  2. I would include just where the wedding will be. That way they can gage travel and accommodations, but it's not overwhelming. I would send all of the details later along with the actual invitation.

Also, creating a wedding website is a wonderful idea. You can include your relationship story, proposal story, and include what plans are in the works. Also, you can include your registry information as well!

    Good luck and congrats!

  3. It would be nice to send travel information to your guests as soon as possible - plane tickets get more expensive the longer you wait. But you can save restaurant info, excursion options, etc. for when you send the invitations.

  4. Since it is a destination wedding, I would send preliminary information about lodging.  It may help people decide now if they can afford to go.

Then send more detailed info. with the invite.  Just send the invites a little earlier then perhaps is usual.

  5. I would suggest first making a wedding website with all that information on it.  Then make the save the dates and add the wedding website on the bottom so that guests can go on and check everything out.

  6. You need to create a wedding website. None of that information should be on a save-the-date or invitation. You should just put the web address on both. TheKnot.com has free websites or go to Weddingtracker.com Good luck!!!

  7. do teh date and wedding website.  then do all that other information for travel and lodging on the website.

  8. send with the invites, places could close down or something in the next 8 months
