Is it safe side facing on couch? Just got a Safety 1st carseat. The only rearfacing is on the dinette booth chair but it doesn't fit completely when i put the table down. The carseat goes a bit back when i do that. Is this a big problem or not? Removed back cushion from dinette chair and the carseat fit perfect, except now there is hard wood in front of baby instead of cushion. Is it safer to just hold her with me on the bed in the back, carry her around with me tight and sit with her on my lap. Help! Planes allow children to be on parent's laps. How do people do it with this kind of situation?

  1. All carseats and boosters seats MUST be used on a forward facing vehicle seat.  Unfortunately there is no safe place to put a carseat in an RV.  You will need to take an additional vehicle and follow the RV.  Sorry!

  2. The law for Rv's that have only two seats in front and the rest are just fold down beds and so forth are the same, the child will need to be placed the the front seat and never in the rear because there are no safety anchors because everything is made of wood and this is very unsafe.,.........

I don't know why you would want to place the seat rear facing, but I do have what is probably the simple solution.

Most RV's have a passenger seat that swivels completely (to allow use of the seat when parked as another 'living room' chair.  Simply swivel the seat so it faces rearward, lock it in place, and there you have it...
