Don't remember the username and password for Westell Router?

Question

I wanted to make my router private so no one else could use it but i don't remember the username and password. There is no "forgot your password?" option either. What should I do? The router IP is 192.168.1.1

A simple soft reset (pushing the reset button)  will not fix it.

You will have to do a google search on your specific router on how to do a HARD RESET.

It will completely wipe your router to it's default.

After the hard reset is finished, you can log into your router and re-input your settings.

Did you change the default name password after you got it?

If YES, look on the back/bottom of the router for a small hole (reset), gently shove a paper click or something into it hold it in there for... 30-60 seconds, that will reset the router erasing all the settings and passwords. Then see NO.

If NO, then look in the manual that came with your router, or search online for "manufacturer model router default password" ex "Linksys ASX2554 router default password" and you should find what the original password was. Or get the manual online from manufacturer its in there too.

Call your ISP and describe your problem to them.  If you can answer their questions, they may be able to reset it for you.
