Don't the female teachers feel sad after beating students with a cane on palm .so painful for students.?

Caning on the hand is dangerous. It should be given on the bum.

Any teacher who has to use a cane to help their students learn needs to find a different job.  With all that we now know about how children grow and develop there are a multitude of other behavior management techniques that help the child LEARN how they can make good choices.  One comment on here said something to the affect that the cane should be brought back to help discipline.  In my opinion, parents can use whatever form of behavior management in their own house (provided it doesn't harm the child), but in schools there is just no need for any form of bodily punishment.

I am currently in my second year of teacher training at a South African University and in our country, beating students is actually illegal. It goes completely against children's rights... and why teach learners to use violence to get others to behave a certain way... think about it...that's exactly what the teacher would be doing if she beats the child. It's all about patience and understanding.

the cane should be brought back, the big problem in society today is lack of discipline, no wonder the younger generation has no respect for anything and its because of the lack of discipline. nowadays if u smack ur children its assault.  load of chit. some kids these days need a good swift kick in the a$$. its funny being a 23 year old sayen this.

i'm sure some worse off kids get treated better than the "cane" in worse-off countries
