Question:

Don't they have better things to do?

I saw an article today on Yahoo about Congress possibly getting involved in horse racing standards. With the war in the Middle East and the floods in the Midwest, doesn't Congress have bigger things to worry about?

Over the past two years, Congress has stuck their nose into steroids, the abundance of pro athletes getting arrested and the NBA official scandal. Now they are having hearings about the breeding standards of horses?

Is it because it is an election year and these stories get their names/pictures on TV?

Is it just me or do you feel like our tax dollars paying their salaries are being TOTALLY misspent? (Of course, government waste is not a new concept but THIS is ridiculous!)

  1. Apparently not.  They've even passed laws about what kind of light bulbs we can use and set a statutory limit on the gallons per flush of toilets.  I'd gather from what they've done that there is no limit to their intrusion into our lives.  It is clear they think they can do a better job of running our lives than we can.

  2. When it comes to the Government, their overall basic plan is: Have Money, Will Spend.

As long as they have money, they have nothing better to do.
