Don't they use sirens ?

One minute he wasn't there,and the next minute he was.When I saw

him I pulled over.I thought I did something wrong.I wasn't speeding 65mph.People were passing me.As he went by he talked into his

PA and told me it was a 100.00 fine.

    I've worked in Emergency Services for 10yrs and I don't know any officer that would do what you are saying. An officer may tell you to move over, but they're not going to say something like what you're posting.

    To answer your question- No police units don't always use sirens when responding, especially if they don't want to alert any suspects at the scene.

  3. They only use sirens when the situation warrants the noise. It is your responsibility as a driver to check your rear view mirrors.

  4. You didn't hear sounds from the cop car? were there lights at least?

  5. That doesn't make any sense.  How could you possibly be fined unless he first got your license and registration information, you would also be given a ticket.  Going by your license plate isn't enough since the driver isn't necessarily the registered owner.

    Either he got another call and decided to warn you rather than complete the stop (unlikely), or there's more to the situation than you are telling.

    And no, they don't necessarily use their sirens, if they do it's just to get your attention.
