Is it Bernie Ecclestone?

I know if you stand his name on it's end it towers over him, but is/was there anyone shorter, ever?

  3. One of them was Allan McNish of Toyota team, way back 2002.

    His height is 1.65m, so it's around 5' 4.9"

  4. Takuma Sato is only 5'4" too. I don't think Satoru Nakajima was any bigger than that either - and it was often said that he simply didn't have the physical strength to drive an F1 car, hence the high number of accidents.     For a few years Johnny Herbert was the shortest, he was 5'5"... he took over the title when Ukyo Katayama (some reports say 5'2", some say 5'3") retired. He was so small that he had trouble pressing the pedals all the way to the floor when he first started...he had to wait for Venturi to find the budget to make the necessary alterations.

    Prost was short, but not SUPER short. As you can see in this video, he's only a little smaller than Piquet, who is 5'7": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICsa85ELk...

    Purely random, but I found this: http://www.ewa1.com/th/mg/mhms8709.jpg while looking for stuff for this answer. I bought this very magazine on holiday in Jersey in 1987...the cover photo was used as a cover for my French exercise book when the new school year began the next September! I still have it now.

  5. Well, Nick Heidfeld is 1.64m and Massa is 1.66 m. So the shortest person in F1 would be Heidfeld, according to what I know.

  6. Bernie Ecclestone is a staggering 5'4".  Jacques Villeneuve is 5'6".  I was thinking Gilles Villeneuve was pretty short, but I can't find any information on what his height was.

  7. Anthony Davidson stands at 5'3" which is an inch shorter than Bernie who is 2" taller than me.
