Don't we all admire the Catholic Church for their acceptance of evolution, as against the kooks who are afraid

to accept it? Why are people afraid to accept that they came from the ocean and crept upon the land millions of years ago?

  2. According to a recent survey ~ 45% of the US population still have reservations about evolution. That's a lot of fearful kooks.

  3. Because they cannot accept that ignorant desert nomads were not necessarily correct.  The belief in their religion and creation story gives them comfort, and knowledge of our origins makes them face that they aren't really better than other living things.  They would rather deny it.  

    Ignorance is bliss.

  4. We are evolving as we speak into fatter specimens and can't get enough junk food so eventually we might all be chubby mutants going to communion.

    If we can't visualize life beginning on earth 2.5 Billion years ago, and arriving where we're at today, how can anyone visualize the creator of the universe who would have had to have been around at least 20 Billion years ago, and exist on a greater scale than we do, to perform such a feat...
