in the bank the other day and there was a man making rude remarks about non whites living in the UK who could claim child benefits for children living in other countries. He named Jamaica, India, Poland and China. He was being very rude talking about how he paid taxes and so white people should be given priority before other non white British nationals. It was disgusting the way he was talking especially since there was an Indian man standing right behind him and a black cashier in the bank.

  1. It was insensitive, inconsiderate and unpleasant but at the same time he has a right to express his opinion. Some people unfortunately do take advantage of the system. It's not something that only happens in the UK. It happens all over the world.

  2. It is rude; however (and unfortunately), people have the freedom and the right to be ignorant, wrong, and to be a$$ holes!

  3. I think natural citizens should have priority over the immigrants. Not necessarily white though. When my mom was going through a divorce with my dad, she went to go get some food stamps just so we could buy groceries. She wasn't asking a whole lot, just like $300 in food stamps for the month to help us a little, and she was denied because of the car she drove, which is a Hyundai that was paid off by my dad. Whereas I had a friend my freshman school year, who was Cuban, and her family lived off of food stamps while she wore designer clothing, Gucci bags, and had a HUGE 15th birthday party: complete with the $700 wedding dress. Her family also drove and Escalade and a Denali. Wrong.

  4. From what you said, yes, it sounds very rude.  And, to do it in front of the minorities he's supposedly talking down is even worse.

But, I know there are two sides to that story, so I'm not too sure whether or not it's as rude as it may or may not be.

  5. Well I cant say I agree exactly but I do understand his blooming frustration.

We have become a banking and social security system for half of the world!  Why should foreign naitonals claim our benefits - and remember that your taxes as well as mine - and send them out of the country?

Just think about that.  It is all this woolly headed liberalism that is creating racism in a country that used to be renowned for its racial tolerance.  There is only so much that a nation will take before it begins to turn.

The man you describe has obviously reached his limit.

    Where's yours?

  6. I would have challenged him there and then.

I had a similar situation with a new hairdresser. We have recently moved and I went for the second time to a hairdresser who had seemed perfectly nice on the first occasion. She had already cut my husband's hair and established that he was an Army Officer and he was waiting for me. You could almost see her labelling us as white middle class Tories as she launched into a racist rant about immigration, with which I am certain she expected me to agree.

I got up from the chair  spoke to my husband in Greek (which my Father is) telling him we were leaving, with which he readily agreed, and walked out into the middle of our local village high street with my head still covered in tin foil highlight packets!

When we got home and after I had washed the dye out!, I wrote a letter to her Manager explaining that her behaviour was unacceptable and that we would no longer be frequenting the Salon. I then posted a notice in our Army wives mag. explaining the tirade and asking if other wives would consider boycotting, to which I received dozens of emails and letters of agreement.

She was a good hairdresser and it has been a pain finding a new one but unless racist half wits are stopped in their tracks, they will peddle their bile in front of someone who would be hurt, and that doesn't belong in the tolerant and caring society in which I am proud to live.

  7. It was inconsiderate he should have thought about the mans feelings however I do slightly agree with him.

  8. no i dont agree with you, i agree with him

  9. It's his right to have an opinion, I think.  It is where I live.  If you don't like it, don't listen.

  10. From what you say I'm not sure that the remarks could not be construed as racist. The cashier should have asked the man to be quiet and, failing that, inform him that his remarks are offensive. The supervisor might have called the police.

  11. It was really rude. He's very inconsiderate. Guys like that disgusts me.

  12. I agree with that man. He is right, you know. Although, he was rude to say it right infront of a black man and an Indian. Maybe that's just confidence and he isn't frightened of what other people think, unlike me. But, my friends, it must be said: rudeness is becoming an epidemic.

  13. i agree with him 2,in fact i would have shaken his hand

  14. no it's not rude , it's right...<^><...

  15. really rude but wat can u do, there,s always goin 2 b people like that out there

  16. That is very disgusting and rude!

  17. oid say thaht he nayd tu lehn some mannehs

jk. But that indian man should have whopped sire Radcliffs butt.

  18. If expressing his thoughts are counted as being rude, yes he was.

But fortunately  in England we still have free speech (at the moment) and although you may not agree with what's being said the man has a right to express his views even if they are wrong, only E.U. immigrants can claim child allowance for children not living in the UK

  19. I agree with his point but wouldn't have put it so bluntly and I would never say it where I would make people uncomfortable.

  20. i agree with him why should we pay for their way of life they not even true brits they come here in a 6 by 6 metal box knowing we would let them have a new car home business

why should we pay for them to have a better life than us

    we not stupid

  21. It was very rude and inconsiderate. I would never speak like he did in public, it's not in my nature to do that. I know he has a right to free speech, although he could have waited until he was out of earshot of the Black and Indian men to vent his anger.

  22. well it just goes to show how uneducated and narrow minded this individual was. I dont agree with him and I certainly dont take offence - even though Im born british I'm not white. Thank god we're not like him!

  23. I am middle eastern and really wouldnt care if that man said that. Yes its rude, but ignorance is bliss.

Im Kurdish and have faced racist ppl a few times but i know my history very well so that "go home" thing does not work with me. There is always 2 sides to a story ;-)
