If I were to conclude that I am the only one with common sense, my conclusion would not be sensible.

It is true that there is a specific temperament (or group of 4 temperaments) designated by the initials "SJ" in the Myers-Briggs personality types (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myers-brigg... that seem to be born with a healthy measure of common sense.  In fact, they often refer to themselves as "responsible," and they are,  and others often are not.

But what is short-sighted is to make that the core of human value. Learn to value others, even poets, painters, song writers, writers of science fiction, dreamers...

If the world were made up solely of people with a lot of common sense, we'd all have died of boredom long ago! And human progress would have been kept to a sensible minimum! And, of course, there wouldn't be so much for the common sense jockies to get so prideful about.

The longer I live I find I am the only one with any common sense at all. I have met people who have book smarts but can't find their way out of a room with only one door! It is good to be book smart but I would not want to get lost in the woods with any one who has no common sense.

I remember at School , in my Class of 30 students , I think only 2 or 3 of us had Common Sense.  Maybe another 2 or 3 had some common sense ,  the rest seemed to need be told what was what , almost like an automaton , a robot , waiting for instructions.

Now that I am older , I can see now that people have natural abilities for certain things ,  I may have had Common sense ,  but I could not draw or paint to save my life.  But I could learn to paint .

YES!!! when it comes to my siblings I know what your talking about! both my brothers are really book smart but NO common sense what so ever! I got the common sense but not the book smarts. They do the dumbest things! they never think things threw! they my have above average IQ's but they are idiots!
