  1. No more than how people overrate Bynum.

I think all the talk about how Oden will be the best center ever is an overrating comment just like Lakers will win the final with Bynum.

    Delusive!

Of course, the players aren't overrated because they wouldn't publically rate themselves. Delusive Fans and analysts do the overrating.

  2. O ya I agree but I think a lot of people do it when they expect people to come back "super human" from injury. No offense cause I can see you are a Lakers fan but I mean people are doin the same thing with Andrew Bynum. At least ya they've seen him play and know he is good but they are makin him out to be Wilt Chamberline or somethin ya know..........its kinda insane. Oden will have a lot to live up to though the way people are talkin about him and stuff they are hypin him up big time.

  3. For all we know the guy can be Sam Bowie .

He looks 60 years old ,maybe he's ready for the hall of fame.

  4. yeh its far too soon to be saying hes a "lock" HOF ... we dont even know if he will be an allstar yet. now its only fair to assume that he will be but hes never played in the nba and lets face it he already has a history of injury. best of luck to him however cos he has been hyped to become something huge. id like to see it as its always good to get another nba great to watch

  5. What up Lakers, Angels, and Eagles,

i think that Greg Oden is definitely impressive on the defensive side-- and i think he could be the next Dikembe Mutombo.  Greg's offense does not impress me- so all the people who say he's going to average 20/10 no way.

He's NBA ready defensively- but offensively i think he has a lot to learn and develop.

    Nickster

  6. well, only time can tell now.  if he isnt good, people probually wont care too badly.  they'll just conveniantlly forget they bragged about him and get on with their lives.

not too important if you ask me.

  7. Not really. I think Oden or Beasley would be overrated. Overrated means O.J. Mayo. Getting looked at as early as the seventh grade. Having scouts look at you throught college. It is simply impossible not to make the NBA.

  8. i think people are just really looking forward to his debut

by he way, is that shaq in ur picture?

not bad editing at all, not bad

dont get ur hopes up too high though

i think it will take a little more than just lamar to get shawn

  9. bosh is next garnett

  10. He won't be anything. He is lucky that his team is very good so he is the 4th option.

  11. YYYEEEsss, i totally agree with you. Greg Oden was overrated way too much even before he got injured. How in the world do you pick this 60 year old man over "the next mj they say" (I know thats overrated for kevin durant but not as much as greg oden). Greg Oden did well only on the defensive end in college. He will definitely struggle on offense. He used his size in college to post little dudes up easily. This will definitely not work in the nba and he will struggle. This doesn't have to do anything with his skill but, doesn't he look ridiculously stupid? I mean, have you seen him? he seriously looks like a r*tard. And his voice is like a freakin dude who had his voice box half removed. When he said "I think I need to improve a little more" it sounded like "ma mink ma mad moo mimpreve middle ma" he just freakin pisses me off, how stupid he looks, how dumb he sounds and how bad he plays to be overlooked as a future HOF.

  12. People are overrating Bynum but you don't see me complaining.  He played a good half year and thats it, now Laker fans are thinking he's going to be good like Shaq. Which he's not!

  13. definetly i hate the guy he's not THAT good

  14. We'll know by this time next year

  15. yeah he gets hurt every year

  16. BUST!

  17. well yea i did overrate him but I have my opinion and you have yours.

I saw what he's done in college and I assumed he would make a good transition coming into the NBA because I thought he was ready but sadly he couldn't even play a single game.  I think he's ready for the NBA now and that he'll do great.

  18. Yo Greg Oden is good okay Look at the Flordia came he played them they hade Al Horford and the Pot head and he got 25 points...

Know look at al Horford he getting buckets and he under size Know greg Oden is bigger and will get point to all the Doush Bags in this d**n world that thinnk Oden sucks can blow me okay...

HE's good dont hate on him do that to Durant everyone saying hes so good he gets turnover and takes every shot and bad FG%

And Mayo turnover machine and yeah hes overrated also...

  19. yesssssss.

  20. HOW IS THAT OVERRATING SOMEONE???????????

Lebron never played an NBA game in high school, but everyone knew he was going to be great...

You are just a LAKER fan, and you are scared that Oden is going to destory Bynum and Gasoft

    NEXT BILL RUSSELL SON

"Tyler J is a perfect example:

    "Next Bill Russell"

and no I am not scared of him "destroying" Bynum because it will never happen"

and your an example of a Kobe fan (I mean Laker fan) who is stubborn and can't admit that he's wrong...

"He turns the ball over way too much. He can't pass out of the post. He's immobile down low. He's too sloppy. He fouls a lot."

LOL you know nothing...Oden is one of the best passers out of the post...that's one of the things that makes him so special..and yes he fouled a lot...well when your the only big man on your team who can play defense how wouldn't you get in foul trouble lol?

and to your point about summer league...he had all those fouls because he had a throat problem, and it was hard for him to breathe...Duncan struggled in the summer league, and look how he turned out.

"What has been the biggest knock on Oden? Lacks in fundamentals and can't play against aggressive players. Do you really think that Garnett, Duncan, Howard, Bosh and other pro's won't play him aggressive? He's not playing Spencer Tollackson or any other crappy Big 10 center. He's playing with men. Men who hate to be showed up by rookies.

    You obviously know nothing."

Yup, Oden can't play aggressive because he had 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks. against 4 Florida big men who went to the NBA Richard, Horford, Noah, Speights).

It takes big men a long time to develop sometimes...you have to remember just a couple of years ago Oden was playing against 6,4 centers...now he's going to play with guys his size.

"none of them (IMO) are aggressive players like the NBA has to offer."

    Horford is pretty good...

  21. he is not a bust or is he better than dwight so to the people calling him a bust let him play one game before u judge him

  22. Not nearly as much as some people are overrating Andrew Bynum.

  23. For all the people who are saying that he looks 60 years old, that's pretty mean. Haven't you heard that 60 is the new 40.

  24. I totally think Oden is overrated. He's a sloppy player. He's a very sloppy player. When he's healthy, injured, whatever. He's sloppy.

Check out his senior year in high school. There were a lot of games where he missed easy buckets but got them back because of his size.

In college, he had 11 games where he either had 4 or 5 fouls...he fouled out of his first NCAA tourney game against Xavier...luckily for him, Conley stepped it up in OT. He also got away with a lot. He should've fouled out of 11 games.

In summer league, he had that 10 foul game. He also had another 6 foul game or something.

He turns the ball over way too much. He can't pass out of the post. He's immobile down low. He's too sloppy. He fouls a lot.

I just see a big man who got by on size and intimidation. He's going to be a 10/10 guy for his career with some blocks. He's going to be sitting on the bench a lot, too, because he's going to be picking up quick fouls.

Sloppy player. Not a HOFer (but has potential with great coaching, work ethic...) And he sure as h**l isn't the next Bill Russell or Dwight Howard.

EDIT- He couldn't breathe so he fouled? Right...

And no, his strengths don't include passing. He's not a Duncan or KG when it comes to passing out of the double team.

What has been the biggest knock on Oden? Lacks in fundamentals and can't play against aggressive players. Do you really think that Garnett, Duncan, Howard, Bosh and other pro's won't play him aggressive? He's not playing Spencer Tollackson or any other crappy Big 10 center. He's playing with men. Men who hate to be showed up by rookies.

    You obviously know nothing.

EDIT: Yeah, he can have all the stats in the world. His team lost. He was fed in the post every possession. He's had good games and he's had bad games. Look at the big men you mentioned...none of them (IMO) are aggressive players like the NBA has to offer.

And you said it yourself...he's not playing against 6'4 C's. There's going to be a transition period. It'll be tough and we'll all realize Oden is human.
