  1. They better give me a cup of water, if they dont, demand to talk to the manager, if he still doesnt, pretend to faint on the floor from dehydration :)

  2. YES!  This just happened to me at a Taco Bell in Richmond, VA.  I ordered food and repeated myself twice requesting  a large water (and I wouldn't have cared if they would have charged me for the cup...I just wanted some water!).  But alas, what did they hand me through the window (even after I asked for a large water again while sitting there at the window) a small baby cup of water.  I couldn't believe it, but I didn't want to argue and was too tired to complain.

  3. Well, unfortunately everything is a charge now a days. If your at a dine-in restaurant normally the glass of water might be smaller, but if it's a glass normally you don't pay. But if it's a fast food place and you are using a cup, they do have to buy those cups, so normally why there is a charge.  Already, fountain soda is such a high profit for restaurants, I find it silly to charge money for water or refills!

  4. yes it is c**p jusy plain stupid stop being cheap

  5. Yes it's annoying they gave those cups so the person who ordered a cup of water won't steal  drinks from the fountain.

  6. Yeah it's rediculous.  Some friends and I eat at Steak N Shake quite often and unless the waitress knows us then my friend and I who get water always get shafted with the smaller glass even if we order food.  I get thirsty easily and when I eat I want a lot of water.

  7. ok i just answered your other question ab the restaurant's charging for refills.... but i'll agree with you again on this one. its insulting to be charged for water.

i know at some places where they give a courtesy cup (ie panera bread) if you just speak up they'll give you a "normal" cup!

  8. I don't remember the last time I requested a cup of water at a restaurant, but I know when I did, they wouldn't charge me anything for it, and they gave me a medium or large cup, not a tiny "courtesy" cup.  I think they should not charge you for a cup of water, unless they start having to give out hundreds of free cups a day.  Then, I can see them charging a small, nominal fee to cover their cost of the paper cups.  That's not likely to happen, though. Most people order sodas at fast food places and the people that request water are spending way more than that on the food.

  9. If you think that is bad check out SPIRIT Airlines. They now charge you $3 for a glass of water and no snacks or meals are free.
