Don't you hate it when people from your own state support the opposite?

How many Queenslanders out there have friends who were born and breed in Queensland, but support N.S.W, there are many here in N.S.W that support Queensland, and they are just big show ponies that desperately need attention so they go against everyone, how the h**l can you go against your own state? Do you have this happening much up there? I couldn't even pretend to go for Queensland, I love all Australians even Victorians and Queenslanders but State of origin is a different story.

  1. mate I'm a Victorian and all the Vic's i know go for Queensland over N.S.W every time,i think its because our far northern cousins don't seem to have as big a mouths and ego's as our next door neighbours in Sydney,i enjoy watching the origin and i hope the banana benders kick the dirty cockroaches Ar$e$.

  2. That is what makes Australia great!

In not too many other countries would you have rival supporters rubbing shoulders at a stadium - much less rival jumpers in a lounge room!

  3. yer it sucks nearly my whole family goes for NSW and every time they score they always pay me out

  4. YES! I have a couple of friends who support qld around Origin and they love being called 'traitors' lol they rub it in real bad when qld win. On the other hand, though, I find it quite the amusing when I'm up in Queensland and I see these guys walking around in Blues jerseys...champs, I'll say! lol, but I hate people who are cynical about their team. Be a real fan!

I know a guy who supports the Broncos in the NRL but go for nsw in Origin, and it confuses me no end. As for me, I'll be a nsw supporter until the day I die.

  5. Well, it's not rugby, but here we can't understand people in New England who love the New York Yankees instead of the Boston Red Sox. It boggles the mind! I get furious when I see someone wearing anything with the Yankees logo outside of New York.

  6. Hey im a qldr and yes we have heaps of qld people supporting the blues up here. and I think your right that they are showponies who want attention and who just want to go against everyone. I thought it just happened up here but I never really thought about it, we have heaps of people up here who barrack for the blues and it gives me the s***s, ive always been a qldr and always will be i love my state as I sure you do as well, I can respect someone who supports their team even a blues supporter but not phony showponies like we get every year at origin.

  7. YES i hate it but I rub it in when QUEENSLAND WINS ha ha ha ha and they hate it... I say to people whoever backs nsw (i put it in small letters because QLD is always on top, and THAT'S TRUE) f.u.k off then and go live down there................ I HATE new south wales

  8. we have the same problem in nsw too, we have people going for queensland when the should go for nsw, TRAITORS, GO NSW WE'LL WIN NEXT TIME FOR SURE WHEN THEY GET RIDE OF JARROD MULLEN.

  9. I'm born and bred NSWelshman, but we flew the coop about 6 years ago and set up camp in Queensland.

I spent so many years perfecting my Cane Toad hate it was a real hard habit to break, I bet it happens to everyone who crosses the border.

We definitely have it up here, even Beattie had a rant the other day about supporting the state that supports you; most people believe it's only those who recently moved here that go against the Maroons, but some Queenslanders do too. There are also heaps of Queenslanders that can't stand the Blue Jerseys contaminating their streets, and they're loud about it.

For me, it's a hard habit to break, once a hard *** supporter always a supporter at least. It helps when your favourite players retire, leave the league, get selected out etc. then you can care a little less whether that team wins.... as a diehard Knights fan there'll probably always be some of my boys in Blue Jerseys, the best I reckon I can go is neutral.. but time will tell. ;P
