You know in the winter time people will go out and start their cars in order to warm them up and leave them like that for awhile. I hate seeing that because it results in pollution plus it also stinks.

  1. I do that. If you start the car while the engine is cold, it will mess up your car and your engine.  If you have a cruddy car and leave it on, yeah it will leave a lot of poluttion.  But my car is very very nice (EXPENSIVE) and I start it for 5 minutes until its toasty. so no. it doesn't bother me.

  2. I hate traffic jams and stoplights.

All those cars burning gas when an electric car is simply keeping its lights lit and its passengers comfortable.

  3. I find it difficult when people sit across from each other in cars and talk for awhile and leave their cars going- especially in the summertime. The smell of diesel is very strong and bothers me if I'm nearby. And it's a waste of gas for sure.  But in the wintertime it's often necessary to leave it going for a little bit. For the last  2 days here, where I live, we've had a terrible snow and ice storm. Not only did I need to keep it going to make sure the engine was heated up, but the ice was so thick I had to run my defroster for a while in spite of me attempting to scrape the windshield.

  4. you have to warm up your car in the winter though or you could do some serious damage to your car.  I don't like when they leave them out there unattended for like 20 min, but you need to do at least 5min.

  5. In some places the car might get stolen.  I live in Florida so we don't do that, but when I lived in Maine we had to or the car wouldn't go, it would just chug, chug chug!

  6. I hate that!!!

  7. This is a bad idea in my part of the hood.

  8. Please excuse us for actually taking care of our engines.  Read the vehicle manual.  It would be like you waking up first thing on a cold morning and immediately start sprinting.  Not good for you and certainly not good for a car.

  9. Not warming up the engine could ruin it though.

    You could crack a block.
