Don't you hate it when the kids go back to school?

I love it! Although, I'm sure that some day I will dread it. But for now I like the school year because:

*  My 6 yr old is learning social skills and making new friends.

*  She is learning how to read, do math, etc...

*  She seems to be in better physical shape throughout the school year. (My kid is lazy. Daycare has too many snacks and too much free time.)

*  She sleeps better at the end of the day.

*  I love seeing the pride on her little face as she shares the knowledge that she is gaining.

*  School provides a healthier lunch and more activities than daycare.

*  Life is slightly cheaper when school is going. (only paying for half-day at daycare plus $2 per week for lunch)

*  Field trips & class parties are a fun reason for me to miss work!

She loves school so it makes it hard for me to hate her going back.  I like having the school routine better than the chaotic summer routine and when she is in school I save $500 per month in childcare expenses so that is a nice break as well.

They are learning and getting education. What could make a parent happier? CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE! Plus it keeps them busy.... sooo yeah  lol

My boy just started Kindergarten, here it is full day and he went to Pre K last year for half a day.  I so hate it that he is in full day school now, he was my first born, so I miss having him here all day.  Now it is just me and my baby girl (8 months old). At least I have her to myself now.  So she will get the same attention as my boy did since it was only him for four years.

Yes, me too!  I start to get the winter blues when school starts back.  Summer goes too fast.  Once school starts, then halloween comes, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas...then the rest of winter drags.  I HATE WINTER!

Yeah, Somewhat. I'm happy that i could do stuff i can't do when their home in the summer, like clean up, take a nice bubble bath-which is RARE. I have 5 kids. 15 year old, two 11 year olds, A 2 year old and my 4 wk old. My 2 year old started a 5-6 hour playgroup. I removed her from her old playgroup, It was only an hour. And i needed a break from her and her terrible twos Stage. Her new playgroup starts September 3rd, When my older kids start.

I work in a place that looks after kids... summer is the busiest time of year!!!
