Don't you love Carrie Underwood vs Kelly Clarkson?

She always acknowledges American Idol and is very gracious while Kelly thinks she's all that and never acknowledges who gave her the start to where she is now!!!

I hate pop-infused country music. If I listen to country, it better d**n well have a washboard and a banjo. This is why I hate Carrie Underwood, along with others such as Rascal Flatts. And I'm sick of seeing her on every commercial hocking every product... and that's all I have to say about Carrie Underwood.

Should she have to acknowledge them for the rest of her life/career, NO. I am sure she is very thankful for the show - but in order to stay in this business she has to do the work not American Idol.  I personally think Carrie is more stuck up than Kelly. I have been to a Carrie concert and Kelly concert and Kelly has more rythmn/moves than Carrie.

i like them both. they both have good music. Kelly's music is a little more my style, im not that into country. and carrie is more relaxed.

Kelly constantly acknowledges AI. In interviews she always respects where she started and in concerts she always seems  able to work a mention into the show.

It is not a fair analogy to compare how much each artist acknowledges the show. Kelly is 6+ years removed while Carrie is only 3+. At a certain point Carrie will wain on her acknowledgment as well.

Another difference is the genre of music they perform in. Pop music is notoriously fickle. If Kelly keeps her feet planted in 2002 she will never be able to have a sustainable career. Country music on the other hand is notoriously loyal and fans expect you to be respectful of the constant support they give an artist.

I don't care for either of them actually. I am sure they are nice people and all, but, to me country music has moved far to the rock/pop area. If I want to listen to country, which I don't usually, I listen to George Strait.  To me he is pure country, voice and acustic guitar and all. Yes, Iike Gordon Lightfoot too.

depends. i like kelly's songs somewhat better but carrie is more modern and has newer songs. she is a great singer but itl take a while before she becomes an exelent singer with experience that comes with age and such. she is still too young to singing in my opinion to be considered as better than kelly
