Most of the WTA players now only focusing on hitting hard, forehand and backhand, which is very boring. Who do you think inherits Hingis-type of talents and skills?

  1. hingis was one of my last real favorites.. she was hated on before for her sharp tongue but i always admired her court sense.

kirilenko has been called hingis-lite.. so i guess her game bears some similarity to hingis'.. she uses angles quite well.. chakvetadze is another such player.. good with controlling ball speed and uses spin effectively. jankovic, her backhand, wow. you know how hingis' backhand was =).. in a sense she's like hingis because she's not a power player either.. but they're both very patient when playing points.

  2. Yes.  Hingis is the master of soft touch tennis.  Tennis these days is all about power.  Not much touch anymore.  She was not a tall and big player either, but she was very speedy on court.  I definitely miss her game :)
