Question:

Don't you miss the days when the Grass at Wimbledon favored players like Edberg, Becker, Sampras & McEnroe?

This year's Wimbledon seemed to play a lot like the Clay Courts at the French. There's no way either one of the players today could've handled a good serve & volleyer like Patrick Rafter or Pete Sampras back when the courts played much faster. Do you agree?

  1. Personally, i would prefer seeing a battle in the baselines as what we had just seen rather than a one slam bang point ending match...This kind of play will truly bring out the best in one's ability as what happened before our very eyes...

The match was played on dirt, not on grass, so the resemblance to clay was imminent. And that is why Nadal won, coz this surface favored him...

  2. True. But the organizers would rather see good rallies than ace-a-thons. So tough for Federer. But I'm not sure Federer could have handled Sampras' serve on the faster Wimbledon courts either. Note that you really can't draw conclusions from a 1-0 head to head. I mean, God, Federer couldn't even break Nadal's serve today. That will baffle me for the rest of my life. How on earth could he have handled Pete's?

  3. If Federer would have won, you wouldn't have asked this stupid question.
