  1. I don't think he did, but I think a group of people somehow created it, and it's became worse ever since.

  2. al gore never claimed to have invented the internet, he just pushed  the program to become a public service, instead of a miltary tool. And no, he didnt make up global warming and thats possibly the stupidest thing i've ever heard. he isn't doing this for the money or the fame, he's doing this because it's the right thing to do and somebody has to do something before we kill the planet. if you seriously think that global warming is an attention ploy, then you deserve to be as ignorant as you seem to be.

  3. There are those that believe it's a hoax, then there are those that believe it's true.

An observation of sorts. With all the factories, exhausts, power plants, rising temps. If the thought every action has a reaction holds true.

What then is happening to our atmosphere?.

  4. Yup...He needed to make some extra cash I guess...

  5. Its not made up.  He is just trying to raise awareness.

  6. I often wonder why I continue to answer questions about global warming and Al Gore when it appears that so many folks just shoot from the hip and totally miss the most important issues. Why spend so much time trying to destroy Gore? Is your life so empty that this matters?

Global warming may or may not be caused by what we do to the Earth. There may or may not be things that we could do to alter the climate changes. My answer is a question for you and all those who seem to answer without ever giving a thought to the real importance of what we are doing to our only planet. Exactly what is wrong with trying to treat this Earth as if we needed it to remain clean? Should we really hate every person who has used the system to become rich? We'd really need to hate a whole lot more people than Gore.

There is absolutely no question that we are doing great harm to this planet. We ... and I do mean "we" (not just you) each do so many things that seem trivial but when done jillions of times by jillions of people ... cause our water to be polluted, the soil contaminated, the air in many cities can almost be cut. There are so many very important problems to solve and wasting time on rich politicians is worthless. So toss you butts and beer cans out the car window, leave that McDonalds bag on the curb, blame the environmentalists for those high gas prices, live life like what you do does not matter, but I hope you will really start helping to solve the problems or just keep quiet.

  7. NO ON BOTH COUNTS. GLOBAL WARMING WAS CAUSED BY A MUCH HIGHER SPECIE THAT HAS THE TECHNOLOGY TO WEAKEN THE INVISIBLE FORCEFIELD THATS PART OF THE OZONE. IT HAS THE ABILITY TO STOP OUR ATMOSPHERE FROM LEAVING OR ALLOW  OUTERSPACE FROM ENTERING, BUT ALLOWS SOLID OBJECTS TO GO THROUGH. AS FOR ANYTHING ELSE LIKE NON-SOLIDS THEY DECIPATE NEAR THE EARTH'S SURFACE, THAT'S WHY THE E. P. A. CANT PROVE TO CONGRESS THAT NON-SOLIDS HARM THE OZONE AND AL GORE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GLOBAL WARMING OR THE INTERNET.

  8. someone did global warming is a crock!

  9. no...where the h**l do you think he gets all of his facts....and tell me y a bunch of car companies and product companies are making environementally friendly products!!! omg...people in this world are so ignorant!!!! observe things!!! jesus christ

  10. global warming is real there is a big hole in the ozone layer

  11. He's also the inventor of the environment and the first emperor of the moon. (futurama)

But, no. He just made a movie about it. The theory of greenhouse gasses and their effect on global climate shifts has been around for alot longer than "inconvenient Truth".

  12. He may claim to be worried about Global Warming. But every time he shows up to speak, he arrives in his private jet. Wouldn't be more enviromentally safe for him to take a commercial jet? HMMmm keep preaching AL.

  13. The Internet thing has been debunked and is last centuries news.

Gore had an instructor at Harvard who made a deep impression on him.  He's been following up on Revelle's work ever since, and wrote "Earth in the Balance" and accepted the Vice Presidency to try to increase awareness on what he knew then to be a serious problem.

Since then, modeling has improved greatly, and enough information has been accumulated through decades of research that most scientists concur that the planet is warming. There is disagreement over how much and how fast.

  14. i think he made it up, he need the cash, and the fame...

  15. WRONG.  The internet quote was fabricated and promoted by none other that Rush Limbaugh himself. The actual quote from the transcript of the interview was "created the internet" (which is a big difference). When challenged with this fact, they said that created and invented are pretty much the same word. The fact is, Gore created the Internet by funding it through the US congress. He was being truthful. Rush Limbaugh once again is a big fat liar. Sadly, the media pretty much takes every opportunity to repeat a story (true or untrue) if it helps ratings. They feel OK if another major network says it without fact checking. Every major media network should hang their heads in shame.

Al did not create global warming. He did not cause global warming. He did not invent global warming. Global warming is verified by every credible expert in the field.

Sadly, we still have experts that you can hire (hired guns) to give you a report that verifies what you want to hear. That also goes for presidential offices who can hire an attorney who will advise you that torture is OK. They will even tell you that suspension of habeas corpus is OK for US citizens. (Shame on them.)

Sadly, media is owned by large corporations who can be assured that every major story is either suppressed or given the appropriate spin.

It's time to turn off your TV and start reading Noam Chomsky and Ralph Nader so that you can learn the truth.

Global Warming is real. The Internet is what it is today largely because of the efforts of Al Gore. The media is nothing more than a slick propaganda machine for the elite establishment.

Finally, work and support the Green party if you want to make any real difference in the world.

  16. I think if its happening that its probably natural.

I mean how long have the glaciers been melting?

A lot before the invention of the automobile.

  17. Your claim "He also claimed to make up the internet..." is false.

and... no.  global warming theory was not developed by Al Gore, that anyone knows.

As for the other comment you made though...

    Case & Study...

    The Internet and Gore:

Al Gore advocated and co-sponsored the legislation that created Defensenet, a project that began as a network of military computers and later grew into the World Wide Web.

He was pretty much the "Alpha Geek" in the senate from the early 80's, sponsoring and promoting Internet related legislation and helping remove the legal obstacles to make the modern Internet possible

While the claim, "I invented the Internet,", first of all, is inaccurate and taking in that context, is an exaggeration to the point of hubris, Gore, was in fact, instrumental in the rapid growth of the information superhighway as Al Gore himself dubbed it and along with Bill Bradley, led the group of technogeeks which became known as the "Atari Democrats."

During an interview with Wolf Blitzer in March 1999, Gore said, "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

The claim is essentially true - of course it would have been perhaps more precise to word it a little differently, like, "paving the way for" or something to that effect, it's plainy obvious to anyone that this educated man was not trying to say he conceived and developed the entire Internet all by himself, he merely had largely to do with how the Internet came to be as we know it.

In the 1980s DARPA, which is part of the Pentagon and which financed the first incarnation of the Internet, defunded a number of projects, including civilian use of the Internet, which weren't directly related to military applications. Gore played a major role in seeing that the Internet project was retained under the National Science Foundation, which created nsfnet. Nsfnet ultimately became the Internet we know and love today.

The story that Gore said he 'invented' the Internet was cleverly reiterated incorrectly by d**k Armey, a Republican member of Congress. Armey's imaginary wording was then picked up by the media, evidently since what Gore actually said wasn't as sensational a story (don't you just love the media, and what did the have to lose, they were able to pass the blame on Armey).

It was often combined with the stories from the Republican movement that Gore claimed to have discovered Love Canal (also phony), or that he said that he had inspired 'Love Story' (yes, phony), to produce the theory that Gore is an obsessive fibber... all this leading to things which some outspoken individuals still perpetuate as with regard to 'Global Warming' for example.

Not going all the way back, but here's a synopsis from Gore's biography, which is fairly non-partisan:

In 1989, Gore introduced the National High-Performance Computer Technology Act, a five-year, $1.7 billion program to expand the capacity of the information highway to connect government (.gov), industry (.com, .net), and academic institutions (.edu, .org). Signed by President Bush in 1991, the bill supported research and development for an improved national computer system, and assisted colleges and libraries in connecting to the new network. While Gore is not, as suggested in 1999, the "Father of the Internet", he can credibly claim credit as the wealthy uncle who stepped up to provide funds and rally support and all that comes with it at an important moment. In 1989, when few public officials grasped the profound changes that new information technology would bring, Gore saw them plainly. "I genuinely believe that the creation of this nationwide network will create an environment where work stations are common in homes and even small businesses," he told a House committee in the spring of 1989.

  18. If you research global warming you will find that Al Gore is not the FIRST person to bring this matter up. I have watched his movie 'The Inconvenient Truth'. My conclusion is this, I still am not sure whether global warming is legit or not. However, what can it hurt to be alittle more earth friendly anyways?

  19. The idea of global warming was around before Al Gore made it his cause. It was actually Margaret Thatcher who helped to turn it into a big issue (strange, I know).
