I mean, in all the Peanuts specials, Charlie Brown is just kind of a push over. If the same thing happened nowadays, Charlie Brown probably would have perpetrated a Columbine-style massacre with the help of his only friend, Linus. Lucy would have been the first to go: "Pull that football away from me now, b****!"

Charlie Brown was "every man" and the strip originated in the last 50s, a much less violent and hateful time that what we live in now.

Charlie was lovable and innocent. Peanuts would not be possible now.
