  1. Those knock-offs are really cheap.  So they have the look without putting out the dough.  I have looked online to see some of the purses mentioned on this site.  Ugly, ugly, ugly and $3,000+.  I wouldn't pay $ 3.

To each his own.  It takes a lot of savings to get a house but not much money to buy a knock off.  Some people aren't able to think about deferred pleasures or feel hopeless about their ever getting them.

  2. Actually I do have a problem with that. I used to be a cashier at walmart and some of the things I would see would just p**s me off. My favorite is when people who were barely making a living woul dbuy the knockoffs and that sperfectly acceptable. They d pay with cash and leave the store knowing that while the bag wasnt real it doesn tmatter because its going to get worn out soon anyway. Why not save some money and get the next best thing? However I would see alot of peopel carrying the real thing (obviously) come through my line. They d have their hair done, their nails and not to mention their designer clothing. Then they would pay me with their lonestar card (welfare). That always pissed me off. You can afford a designer bag but not groceries, priorities people!

  3. I agree with you. Buy the real thing or don't tote around a knock-off.

  4. theres people that cant afford things like that...so they get the next best thing...i'm not gonna lie i've done it once and well my granny does it...na i dont think its ghetto i come from the hood and believe it or not they have the real thing...i know girls with money that get the knock offs cause there cheap and dont want to spend there money

  5. No, it isn't "retarded" to buy knock-offs.  What is offensively rude, however (besides the use of the word "retarded") is that you spend so much time carefully examining other people's belongings to see if their purse is Prada or their necklace is a diamond or a cubic zirconium.

It's none of your business that someone chooses to spend their money on designer goods and real jewelry, or knock-offs and imitation gems.  And it's not for you to tell someone that they should be buying a house.

If this is your wife buying designer items that your budget can't afford, then the both of you need marriage counseling and credit/financial counseling.  If she's buying a $75 knock-off instead of a $1500 Gucci bag, shut up and be grateful she realizes the Gucci is out of range.

  6. I think the use of "retarded" as an insult is in far worse taste than any knockoff.

  7. I think it is ridiculous to spend hundreds or thousands on a purse. It is just a purse. It is going to get worn and replaced soon.

I'm sorry, but it isn't a status thing if you have to buy products covered with a company name to feel rich. A truly classy, yet overpriced, handbag would be one that is made by an expensive designer but their logo is very small in only one spot on the bag.

p.s. I hate when people wear tshirts that just advertise a company logo...

  8. I agree because it hurts those of us who go and buy the real thing and then the prices get jacked up because the companies have to pay to have all of those "thieves" who they shut down for trademark theft.  I've always wondered how people wander through some of the poorest areas of the country, not just the US, I've traveled widely and carry LV purses and Prada and even Hermes and expect someone to believe that they are real.......it's one of those things that make you go hmmmm????
