...how some people are paid to be a critic of a concert, event, movie, etc and write a review in a newspaper, be the reporter......but normal people can do the exact same thing at the same level as those who are paid to do it?

I don't know. I just think it is a bit.

  1. i agree that it's a bit unfair. i'm sure a lot of "Critics" go to school in some fashion to know what it is they're critiquing...

even though a lot of so called critics have bad taste or try to push their bad taste filled ideas on the general public, i feel they "know" what they're talking about.

except ticket sales of movies show the public didn't like it... word of mouth didn't get it to be popular or people see the trailer and go 'yeah i'm NOT seein' that', etc.

dunno. get a channel on YouTube and be a critic all you like and *maybe* you'll be made partner & will be paid for your opinions like all the other critics, and there ya go lol

  2. actually i heard that those critics which are paid good money have some experience in that field or a degree...like movie critics usually have had years in that industry

  3. Not really. If you think you're as good as most professional critics, then apply for a job as a critic for a newspaper or magazine.

Although it's not as easy as it looks. I mean, I hate critics, and mostly all they write is pretentious meaningless nonsense...but you still have to be GOOD at writing pretentious meaningless nonsense to be a critic.
