people become "in love" with random friends they met on myspace?

im talking about a freshman and a sophomore. especially when they've never met in person. i mean come on. WOW. lol its nice to talk to people online but why do they even think they have a chance with them? they dont live anywhere near eachother and i just dont get how you can like someone that much when all you do is message them and talk on the phone and you've never even seen them. lol.
