The pope dies and goes to heaven. St peter greets him at the gates and says you’ve lead a very holy life and if there’s anything you want here in heaven we’ll be glad to reward you with it, anything and we’ll do it. So the pope thinks for a bit and finally says well I’ve never seen the original form of the bible so st peter says ok and leads him to a room where the bible is kept and he leaves him alown in there for him to browse thought it. After a few minuets the pope exclaims “oh, oh my goodness the word is ‘celebrate’!”

Hehehe made me laugh

  1. No - not really.

  2. LOL :-D

  3. Nice joke and not at all offensive. I think that the best religious jokes are usually told by someone of the religion that the joke is about. That's why the Jews tell the best Jewish jokes and Catholics tell the best Catholic jokes etc. For those old enough to remember there was an Irish comedian called Dave Allen who told the best Catholic jokes ever which were always funny and usually repeated by priests at weddings & celebrations.

  4. I don't get it. I read it twice and I just don't get it.

  5. Great- have a star.

  6. No

  7. Maybe, but this one ain't.

  8. There shouldn't be any religious jokes.

  9. sorry to sound stupid, but i really dont get it!! could u explain? i am trying to work it out, but i cant!

  10. Some religious jokes are great.  I enjoyed your one (I am a celibate).  Some jokes point at the folly of man to make rules that only God can make.  They show up hypocrisy and self-righteousness.

Others are just plain mean and are the result of opinions, false assumptions, gross generalisations and plain old prejudice.  None of which are funny in the least, no matter who they are directed on.

That said, being shocked and insulted is a personal choice.  We can chose to react, in which case we show our weakness and give our enemy a weapon they can inflict pain on us with.  Or, we can choose not to be insulted, in which case we rob our enemy of the power to harm us with words.

As Christians, we are told to love and pray for those that persecute us.  If we accept persecution without retaliating, then God Himself defends us and we prosper.  There have been many times when someone who attacks Christianity turns around and becomes just as fierce a defender of it.  That would not happen if we repaid evil with evil instead of good.
