  1. I think it will happen.   I hope it does not at least where I live (Florida)

    last think I want to see when I go to the beach is oil rigs.  And if there were an accident there would be oil on our beaches.  Florida depends too much on the tourism industry.  Tourists many not want to come to FL and see oil rigs. If there was an accident it can devastate the Florida economy.


  2. It will happen sooner than later.  The odds of an oil spill are very slim.  There is a better chance of two commercial airliners colliding. When Katrina came through Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, no oil derrick suffered an oil spill.  The only accident I can remember is the Exxon Valdez in Alaska and it did not involve an oil derrick.

    Either drill our [US] oil or pay OPEC prices which will end up at about 10 dollars per gallon.  In the meantime, develope deisel, hydrogen or electric automobiles.
