Don't you think that in these ages most people want to be rich because we now almost have to be? ?

Especially since everybody needs that safety net now to prevent them from becoming homeless. In case something goes wrong because of all the riseing threats to our wealth. So I think knowing this is more important then love and anything else in these times.

Here I would like to emphasis that richness has got two angles.

As you say, these days people want to be rich materialistically, i.e. they want more money, more property, more cars and comforts and what not. This is one kind of richness which should be discouraged. Because such kind of richness has got its inherent dangers. One of the danger is to handle such possessions safely, maintain them and utilize them to the optimum, protect them from theft and destruction. Unnecessarily people envy the man having more comforts. This becomes a kind of curse. Relatives mistake when rich people are not sharing worries and extend help in the form of money, etc.

On the other hand, there is other kind of richness. It comes from lot of goodwill. It comes from wisdom. It comes from knowledge. It comes from love and care for each other. Let us show interest in uplifting the downtrodden people. We can spread peace and happiness. This is considered a rich wealth. Such help is better rather than helping in the form of cash. Possession of such kind of richness cannot be snatched away from us.

By this I do not want to say that people should not aspire for material richness. I want that they should earn to meet their need. But one should not earn to fulfill their greed. This para should be kept in mind to become rich.

i agree...money has been the sparkle in the eyes of wealthy and wanna be wealthy people...

...the mid income unfortunately are breaking even or on the brink of bankruptcy...
