  1. Neither the bloke that blew the story on the fireworks scam or the one that posted the truth about the little girl in his blog live in China.

Maybe she is a safer child than she would have been if the Chinese government still had something to hide?

The Chinese political system is what is ugly and the world wide tributes that the games opening achieved has gone no way to improving that.

  2. The original little girl Yang Peiyi was 7, 2 years younger than the Little girl that sung. Her baby teeth weren't fully in anyway. She's most definitely not an ugly little girl It didn't need to be that way. But China's obsessed with "Perfect"

  3. Yes, but China is a cruel and barbaric country.  They hastily punish and exterminate their own people who have dissenting views or cause the country shame.

They eat dogs and St. Bernards are the preferred choice.  They breed St. Bernard puppies specifically for that reason.  And if they are in short supply they import them...

  4. Big fuss about nothing - we wanted a 'spectacle' and we got one - did it really matter that a couple or three or four tricks were played to achieve the effect?

  5. Well its true the parents of the girl whose voice was on tape could have said they didn't agree, but China still shouldn't have done that. They do it in the US all the time. I  could see the footprints were fake they didn't look real so i wasn't shocked when they admitted it. The little girl singing wasn't good at miming because my sister was first to notice her miming and the singing were out of sync.

  6. before anybody starts critisizing china i've got the real story

little girl #2 (the one who wasn't chosen) wasn't not chosen because of her looks it was because she had stage fright. altho she had the best voice she was too scared to sing in front of that many ppl...so they went with the little girl #1 who was extremely experienced as she had sang in front of millions b4 ...IT WAS NOT BECAUSE OF THE GIRLS TEETH or her cuteness!!!

  7. Yes it was soo Mean, she wasn't even ugly.

It is so sly on the little girl!

  8. Yes, but considering some of human rights violations they commit that is mild mannered.

Bands have been doing it in the US for years in videos

  9. I think that is beyond disgusting, what message does that send to the kids of the world? I am dissapointed in these Olympic games fakes.

  10. Did what to the little girl? I would be honored if I was asked to sing for the Olympics. She is set for life. Imagine putting on your resume that you sang at the Olympics. Who cares if they showed her face or not? Both the little girls will be famous because of their performance. If they asked your child to sing for the Olympics but wont show her face, how many parents would turn down that once in a life time experience? People say oh I would never let me daughter do that if they wont use her face.... YAH RIGHT!! This is the Olympics not your school play. You cant compare the two. If they ask me to performce in the Olympics but they wont use my face, I'll tell them BE THERE TOMORROW! Besides, the not good looking girl said it was an honor to sing and I think she is right. We need to stop making this into a big issue. Who cares?!

  11. The girl who is said to be ugly did not have perfect teeth.I would rather have seen her singing that to cheat the public whith one who mimes.

  12. yh it was kinda lame but what can you do about it. Theyve got 2 bn people to chose from!

  13. I think it was sorta screwed up but I think there is always two sides to every story.  China's ceremony also had "Fake" fireworks.  I think they are trying to over-do it just a little.

  14. She actually sang, but it was not put through the PA. Full credit to them for giving the credit to the one whose voice was used by releasing her name and picture. As usual, the emphasis is on team effort - one the voice, the other the persona. Together, they gave a brilliant performance. I suppose this concept of team work is but a past memory in the west.

Just to set the records straight on a point raise by an answer: The footprint fireworks were actually fired off on the night in the places as depicted by the video feed. The ground shots on the night actually showed them from a street-level view. But it was no possible to film the events safely from an aerial angle on the actual night at the fly-over at that height. So a decision was made to dub over shots taken when the real foot-prints had already been fired off. Yes, they were computer simulations, but simulations of actual fireworks that actually went off but would not have been seen from the air otherwise.

  15. Yes, I do, and my heart goes out to both little girls.  The girl who lip-synched - I wonder how she learned to do it so well.  The girl whose voice was dubbed in, was cheated out of int'l publicity.

I do believe that the reason was the final word of Chinese bureaucrats.

    Politics beats excellence once again!

  16. I'm going with the "it’s sick crowed"

The music business is doing the same around the world but luckily it does appear to be a fading trend

  17. That was awful.

  18. The main reason she wasn't the one on stage wasn't because she was ugly it was because her teeth weren't straight and the originally  were going to put her on stage but at the last minute they changed there mind but i still think it was wrong wait they did

  19. i know what you mean that was so sad i bet it damaged her self esteem for them to tell a little 7 year old she wasn't pretty enough to perform, i mean she wasn't even ugly she was cute, the should bow there heads in shame

  20. It was terrible.

  21. Nope. This is entertainment.

  22. Oh don't believe everything the press say...her parents didn't HAVE to let her voice be used did they?

  23. it was her choice; she didn't have to sing if she didn't want to. it's not like they forced her to. either way, i think they both did a great job, both singing and lip syncing, they both take talent and practice :]

  24. thats china for you

  25. I know!

she wasnt even ugly, all they had to do was dress her up in a cute little dress and curl her hair.

    she would have been PERFECT!

  26. well, it's very wrong, but in asia,  i know they tend to put more pretty people on TV than 'average' looking ones..

most of their celebrities have NO talents but they look good

it's sad but that's how things are over there..

  27. The little kid who can sing isn't ugly. She is cute too. And I bet she would look cute in that little red dress too. I don't know where the powers-that-be left their brain.

They made a big deal out of her teeth when the girl they used to replace her has missing teeth. WTF??!
