  1. Yes but that`s life I`m afraid

  2. Yes very sad but these things happen every day...its life im afraid!

  3. It is tragic.

I'm not making light of anything, whilst the young believe that they know everything, they are immortal, and if there is a problem they only have to rewind the tape, then this will happen with appalling frequency.

In life, death is a great teacher. Some will not learn.

Perhaps if a further exam was added to the driving test ''A Psychological Test''.

If a youth is prone to showing off at speed they might fail the test.

If a vehicle size prohibition was added up to 1000cc nominal for two years.

If P plates were mandatory for two years, with no speed above 40 mph, and a mandatory limiter fitted.

Any law breaking in these items means an immediate ban from time of catching (5 years).

Or perhaps a little sense could prevail.

Passing the test means that the first steps of being a ''Life learner'' have been taken.

I have driven perhaps 300,000 miles since I started driving, and I feel that I am always learning, because for each of those miles I have met an idiot.

Truly, there is also at times an idiot in my driving seat .. me.

  4. Its tough, believe me Iv been there.  The police knocking on your door in the middle of the night is the worst thing you can live through

  5. A terrible waste, I feel for their families.

  6. Looking at the road position of the lorry on Sky it would appear the lorry swerved as it went around a bend into oncoming traffic - may be speed but possibly driver fell asleep or drifted and got caught out by the bend.

  7. Absolutely Plato. Every time i hear about tragedies like this my blood runs cold.

I have kids around that age and that knock on the door can happen to any one of us.

My thoughts are with the families x

  8. I live in Melton Mowbray and it has shocked me ! What a tragedy ! Why are people jumping to conclusions already about them speeding or being drunk ? Come on show some compassion !!!!!

  9. very sad

  10. That's deplorable.

  11. ye that was a bad one, they were just kids,

  12. This news breaks my heart.  My best wishes go out to the families.

  14. A huge waste of young lives.

My sister was instantly killed in a car crash.

I had to identify her & it was so difficult & sad.

Vehicles cause carnage & any road death is a tragedy.

  15. yes...but sadly its going to get worse before it gets better.

  16. Considering the state of my car when I hit a lorry head on (Spun my car round a corner) I think it will have been instantaneous so thats a blessing really. Chances are it happened in a similar way on an A road.

Just makes you think how lucky you actually are sometimes.

  17. It is sad > young people dying is always tragic, they have not even begun to experience life.

  18. It is very very sad - I suspect speed was involved and as the lorry driver has been told he's to face no further action the fault was with the Mondeo driver.  Kids eh. they think they're immortal .....

  19. it very sad story

  20. The senseless death of any person, young or old, is such a waste of life.  Yes, very sad.

  21. yes its absolutely terrible for the people, friends and families involved.

however it doesn't affect me at all. there are plenty more people in much worse situations im sure. i know id rather be dead than live the lives some people have to live in run down undeveloped countries.
