Well, i am a true cricket fan and all other true cricket fans would agree that seeing a batsman dispatch a bowler for six does make a good sight but what adds cherry on the top is when the batsmen does of a good swinging delivery.

Thats what is lacking today. I saw the asia cup. While almost all matches were high scoring, I didn,t like even one game. There was no competition. All the bowlers except Mendis struggled. I personally feel there should be more support for the bowlers. I want the big reverse swinging yorkers to return. That's where the real fun is. Isn't it.Mind you i am also more of a batsman when i play cricket but i still feel so.

  1. You're right. The standard of bowling in this era is nowhere compared to what it used to be in the 80s & 90s with the likes of Thompson, Lillee, Garner, Marshall, Wasim & Waqar etc. One reason for that is rules are made too batsmen friendly now that a bowler is almost deprieved of the confidence by everyone just focussing on the batsman to smash it around. And about Asia cup, the subcontinent pitches are totally flat & provide no movement & seam to the bowlers. All that just makes a sad sight for us when we compare these with the standards of past.

  2. Part of the reason that I dislike the synthetic games (ODI and T20) is that the rules have been changed for these formats so that it favours the batsmen.  So, the wide rule, limited bouncers restricted fielding positions and "power plays" etc, etc. Add to that the groundsmen are required to make the wickets as flat as possible so that batsmen score runs.  All adds up to a batsman's paradise.

Yes I am tired of seeing the ball belted out of the park on flat tracks with skewed rules.  Administrator's seem to believe that crowds love runs and only runs being scored. Well I think that the sight of stumps cartwheeling or batsmen being run out or stumped or being beaten is just as spectacular.  It's no wonder that the ODI is losing popularity and no doubt the T20 will go down the same path unless the problem is addressed.

  3. no way man.......

    I love high scoring affairs.....

actually when our bowlers get the punishment from the opposite team then i get frustrated....

however, i love to see Indian team belting opposition team
