as much as i appreciate the troops aren't the people at the RNC missing the point? they talk about the surge, freedom in Iraq etc etc. don't they realize that we were not supposed to be there to begin with? Iraq has a surplus on $76 billion and the US has a deficit in the trillions. what does that say about the running of the war?

  1. I don't even remeber who started this war and why...I'm not saying give up though. If it helps those people in Iraq then let's keep helping them, but how can we do that when every soldier's family probably hates Bush right now?How can we keep helping them if our soldiers are tired, hungry, etc.???If the people there will stop killing each other and won't need our help anymore, let's just come back home and forget about it.It's like a silly fight.Do we seriously need oil from them anyways? We do need to start working with more ethanol so we can help get closer to completely no polution and so we can be more independent as a country.Ethanol is cheaper and environmentally friendlier right???So why not start using it.People head on to newer technology each day so why can't we all head on to something better in our gas tanks??

    Review:

We don't need their oil.We need to be more independent as a country to show that we can help ourselves then we can start helping others who really need it.Taxes are great for some people but not for a lot of people.Lower them, have more people getting jobs.We need to get this economy growing and running again.

  2. One of the many mistakes they aren't able to admit to.

  3. particularly when , rumsfeld I think, said this war would pay for itself...

and last "6 days, 6 weeks, I doubt we'll be there in 6 months"

yeah, they really planned this one well...fidiots

  4. First of all, there are two nights left to address all the issues.  Secondly, we are in a war.  We can't go back and change that fact.  Do you want a speech of "If we hadn't gone into the war.....".  It's nice to dream but it's not reality.

  5. I think the liberals and Democrats are missing the point.  The terrorists have devoted their attention to Iraq.  I'd rather fight them there than here.

If Iraq becomes a stable country, it might turn out to be money well spent in the long run.

By the way, how much negativity did the Democrats direct toward themselves?  None.  Not a single Democrat stepped up and said "B. Hussein Obama is an America hating, racist ex-crackhead Marxist slime puddle and we should rethink his nomination."  Why would the Republicans be more self criticizing?

I point out to every single liberal who brings up that tired "no weapons of mass destruction argument," we were not there for that reason.  We were them because intelligence indicated that Saddam was "DEVELOPING THEM."  The fact that 550 tons of yellow cake were recently shipped from Iraq to Canada indicates that perhaps that was a valid assumption.

And Obama supporters and Democrats are supposed to be better educated.  I find that assertion a constant source of profound amusement.

  6. Well, go look at who voted for it.

And while you are at it, see UN Resolution 1441.

    If you CAN read.....

  7. good point

  8. They aren't missing the point, they are avoiding it.

  9. To think that any type of war on terrorism (foreign or domestic) will ever be "won" just shows the arrogance of some people, no matter who they are or what political party they belong to.  We did not go in Iraq to "free" her people, we went in there because "someone" said that their were weapons of mass destruction that could be used against the U.S., if we did not go in there and put a stop to it.

Iraq was an "axis of evil", we did not go over there on a humanitarian mission.  Do I think they are missing the point, no, just avoiding it, not wanting to even look at it.

However, sometimes the point does get blurred when you have a country bomb another and then drop a bottle of tylenol (sarcasm)after you drop the bomb.

This is the mentality in this country...kill the mickey fickeys, and whoever survives, give them an MRE.

Point is there are some things that just don't need to happen.  We don't have to fight everybody, and the one we were supposed to be after.......anyone even brought his name up recently?

  10. I think you're missing the point.  The point is we declared that we will fight terrorists and the states that sponsor them.  Saddam Huessien supported terrorism against the interests of the USA, and thumbed his nose at the world saying he refused to adhere to the deal that allowed him to stay in power in 1991.

Every time Senator McCain's advice in the conduct of the war has been heeded has turned into success for the USA.   That says he is the best choice for the next four years.

  11. I think your missing the point. We are fighting islamic terrorism and winning!

  12. This is a Republican Convention.  Their job tonight is to sell you on the idea of J. McCain for president, not bring up touchy subjects that might look bad for their candidate.

  13. okay get over it!! we are there & working against terrorism--McCain has a plan to gradually pull us out and anyone with ANY sense of military knows we can't just pull everyone out tomorrow--if you talk to anyone of our troops they fully support Bush and the reason they are there putting their lives on the line!~~

  14. Sorry, but I disagree.  Despite our soldiers having been in Iraq too long, I believe we did a very good thing in taking out Saddam, freeing the Iraqis from their oppression and sparing the rest of the world from his threats and lunacy.

  15. that we are winning. Whether we should have been there or not is not an issue anymore, we are there. So, lets let the past go and support the winning surge that has made it a worthwhile effort so far.

  16. You can never talk logic with Republicans. They claim we can't afford things that will progress the country yet we're magically able to afford over $550,000,000,000 for the war.

    Aren't Republicans funny?

  17. This is only part of the reason we don't need these people in office. They have always missed the point.

  18. The point is what? We got into Iraq on a pretense. We are there because of its strategic position relative to Iran.

    What's not to understand?

The only thing they haven't fessed up to is the fact that we are in Iraq to keep Iran in check.

Its back to the old Cold War methadologies. Run right up to their doorstep, and keep a mess of troops there. It keeps them quiet.

Other than that, the war on terrorism is either an abysmal failure or a stellar success. Only history, in retrospect, will be able to judge the wisdom of this expeditionary action.

As far as I'm concerned, the Iranian government is dangerous. They are sworn enemies of the USA and support terrorists worldwide.

Frankly, if we have to sit on their doorstep for the next ten years, it will probably be worth it in the long haul.

But if we were really there looking for non-existent WMD's, then we have no business being there and GWB is a fool and we were fooled too.

  19. IT SAYS IT WAS AN OBSCENITY!

BUT GOD BLESS THE TROOPS FOR THEIR LOYALTY TO OUR COUNTRY.
