Donaire Nonito believes Pacquiao has edge over Marquez – Boxing News
With Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez heading into their fourth clash, speculations are gushing in. Among all, Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire is most hopeful that Pacquiao will once again outbox Marquez. However, Donaire does admit the fact that
both fighters will have to play smart in order to bring something new in this fight.
“Both fighters know each other well,” said Donaire in his recent interview. “It might look to be the same type of fight to me. Unless somebody has a different idea heading into this fight, I think it’s going to be a close fight.”
Pacquiao will taking on Marquez for the fourth time, having won two of his last three fights against the Mexican fighter. The first fight between the two ended up in a tie, while the next two were won by Pacquiao via unanimous and split decisions. Now, Marquez
is in rage and he is looking forward to avenge his career devastation by knocking out Pacquiao on December 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
On the other hand, even Pacquiao wants to knock out Marquez, in order to erase all doubts that fans have for him when it comes to beating Marquez. It should be noted here that the Mexican has been Pacquiao’s toughest career. Although the Filipino fight sensation
has defeated Marquez twice, fans still are hoping a clearer victory from Pacquiao. Both of Pacquiao’s victories over Marquez were close and so they are not enough to decide which fighter is better.
“I’m always going to go with somebody who has that advantage. And I think that Manny, who has speed and power, and if he can push it, I think that he’s going to win the fight,” added Donaire.
“I think that if Manny can bring in his speed and be smart about it like he has in the beginning, just that sheer, raw talent that he has, that raw energy that he has, I think that he can overwhelm Marquez.”
Donaire believes that the only way Pacquiao can reign supreme in the ring is by using his speed to its utmost.
