Donald, McIlroy and Watson face the walk of shame at the US Open, it is back to basics!

As expected, the top-2 players in the golf ranking are out of the US Open title race, along with Bubba Watson.
Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson have been eliminated after the round 2 score displayed their misery at the field. Blame the course, bad weather or the pressure of the Queen watching, the US Open is not a place for golfers who are not ready.
The world number one Donald was joking around a couple of week ago regarding him being watched by the Queen and the pressure he has on his shoulders regarding his US Open appearance.
“Hopefully I'm one of her favourites, not sure the Queen will be watching,” said Donald before his US Open entry.
Well, the Queen has been disappointed.
Last year’s US Open champion McIlroy was no better than Donald, as he made an early exit as well. This guy has been extremely poor for a while now. The only decent performance he has demonstrated was at the St. Jude Classic.
Realistically speaking, it is the fourth missed cut for McIlroy. Things are definitely not looking good for the 23-year-old and his consistency has now become a regular practice when it comes to missing cuts at important tournaments.
Bubba Watson is also accompanying Donald and McIlroy, who walked the walk of shame after round 2. It was painful to see Watson blaming the course rather than his own play.
“It's a lot better than I am, that golf course is too tough for me,” said Watson.
Tiger Woods, on the other hand, has taken the lead after round 2 and is looking promising. The situation was different last year when Donald and McIlroy were on top of their games and Woods was cornered by the media and the players.
It was evident as Woods gave an excellent play in the first round and the top-2 players in the ranking were just complaining about the course being tough.
The three-time US Open champion is back in his game and it is time for the rookies to back off. The US Open will embark a new era in the world of golf and this time, experience is the winning factor.
