Donald Cerrone: I am ready to nail Jeremy Stephens – UFC News
Donald Cerrone, one of the ace lightweights in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), broke his silence and said that he is 100 percent ready and fit to pummel Jeremy Stephens and has an impressive game plan in his gear to stay, fight, and brutally pound
Jeremy on May 15, 2012 bout.
Donald and Jeremy are scheduled to co-headline Fuel TV’s third UFC episode ‘UFC on Fuel TV3’ or ‘UFC on Fuel TV: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier’. The octagon will be stretched at Patriot Center situated in Fairfax, Virginia, United States. The pay-per-view will
be headlined by the featherweight skirmish between Chan Sung Jung and Dustin Poirier.
Donald and Jeremy will collide in a three-round lightweight division non-title bout. Jeremy, widely known as ‘Lil’ Heathen’, has been in a total 27 bouts and came out victorious in 20. Stephens is a basically a raw powered jabber who knocks his opponent’s
senses out brutally.
Stephens has collected 14 of his wins by knockout, three by submission, and the remaining three by decision. The 25-year-old Jeremy recently fought against Anthony Pettis and lost the bout via split decision, an aspect which proves that he is a lethal brawler.
Donald, on the other hand, is overshadowed a bit by Jeremy’s experience and is expert in an altogether opposite tactic that is submission. Cerrone, 28, has been in a total 22 bouts and came out victorious in 17. He has also collected a no contest decision
due to the usage of prohibited medical substances.
Well known as the ‘Cowboy’, Donald has nailed a whopping 13 opponent by submission. He has grasped just one win by knockout and three by decision. The May 15 bout between the two can simply be dubbed as a skirmish between a submission and a knockout specialist.
Donald while putting forth his thoughts about the upcoming engagement said that he made a huge mistake in his last bout against Nate Diaz adding that this time he will switch off his brain and just fight with the reflexes.
Cerrone stated, “You know instinct, I think that’s the thing a lot of people aren’t doing. That’s where I made the mistake in my last fight, is, you need to learn to turn your brain off and just go by reactions.”
While sharing a piece of advice, Donald remarked, “Don’t go in there and try and think and do things and fight with your brain, because that’s the thing, I got angry and tried to kill him, and when you try to go to hard you just can’t do it.”
The Colorado hailing Greg Jackson’s student said that he just wants to stand in the ring and bang Jeremy adding that he will definitely give the fans what they want to see since he is 100 percent and is eyeballing a hefty bonus.
