Donald McCain to give Ballabriggs a gallop before Aintree meeting: Horse Racing
Much of the attention of the racing world and sports analysts has been caught up by the Dubai World Cup. The main reason why this prestigious event is in the limelight is that it features the richest race in the world.
Nonetheless, the Grand National meeting in the United Kingdom is also the topic of discussion for many journalists, sport critics and all those involved in the horse business. Just like the Dubai World Cup at the Meydan racecourse, the Aintree racecourse
will also host the clash of the best racehorses trained and ridden by the best trainers and jockeys.
It has been reported that the trainer of the champion racehorse Ballabriggs, Donald McCain is planning to assess the development of his trainee as he heads for the major event at the Aintree racecourse on 9th April. The trainer has decided to
give Ballabriggs a racecourse gallop before the much flaunted and awaited John’s Smith Grand National meeting.
The champion racehorse is owned by Trevor Hemmings, who reckons that the colt has the ability to become the star of the National meeting, despite the fact that Ballabriggs could not claim the Kelso meeting earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Donald McCain is positive that the racehorse will give a good performance at the Aintree racecourse on 9th April. The famed trainer also saddled his colt Cloudy Laneto in the 2009 edition of the Grand National meeting. Cloudy was unable
to win the race and could only manage a sixth place finish.
Nonetheless, McCain was unfazed by the result and believes that Ballabriggs is in great form, and that there is still a lot of time for him to improve ahead of the mega event in two weeks.
The racehorse Ballabriggs will be running in the Grand National meeting as a 14-1 favourite and will be carrying a weight of 11st. His trainer is delighted with his development and reckons that the racehorse should be free from any kind of pressure as he
looks to compete with some of the best contenders.
