Donald Trump threatens to withdraw his investment in Scotland in wake of a proposed Wind Farm project
Real Estate tycoon Donald Trump is now in a serious quagmire as his multi-billion golf course and resort is on the verge of being defaced by a prospective wind farm in the vicinity.
Trump spoke in the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday and vowed that he has been betrayed by the economy, energy and tourism committee officials who gave him the assurance that the proposed plan will not be executed and his sprawling golf course and resort
will retain its original “Links face” around the vicinity.
Trump said, "I felt betrayed, because I invested my money based on statements that were made to me. I've completed my site ahead of schedule. I built something that is spectacular - even my enemies say the most spectacular - and really good”.
Trump started building one of the largest golf course and resort in the Scottish Links which would hail several five star hotels, spas, clubhouses and two champion courses build by the Trump Corporation.
Trump has now threatened to abandon his plan to go ahead with the completion of the mega project and says he may want to pull out of the giant investment in the Scottish Links.
He also said that his retreat from the project will have dire repercussions on the many rich investors who are looking to invest in projects worldwide.
He added, "Lots of very smart people with a lot of money are looking to invest in different parts of the world - when they see what happened to me, they're not going to be investing in Scotland”.
During the discussion with the Parliamentary members, Trump also advocated the alternative of Wind Farms and supported renewable energy projects like Water Turbines etc.
He said Wind Farms are not only hazardous for the environment but will also affect the wildlife in the region.
Asked as to how the Wind Farms can be a possible cause of environmental degradation, Trump replied:
"I am a world-class expert in tourism".
Funny as he may sound at times, Trump has faced serious backfire for his avaricious and manipulative designs in Scotland.
He also approached Royal & Ancient for a possible change of venue of the Open Championship to his sprawling course, a plea which was rejected out rightly.
