Donald Young surprises Olivier Rochus in the initial qualifying round – Brisbane International 2013
Ranked 189th in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings, Donald Young, gave a straight-set shocker to the Belgian challenger, Olivier Rochus, in the opening qualifier of Brisbane International 2013. The American
challenger consolidated his triumph, 6-3, 6-4 on the hard courts of Brisbane in nearly one hour and 15 minutes.
The left-hander American was the first one to commence the match at a very decent pace but received a remarkably tough response at the hands of higher ranked Rochus. The score line levelled down twice, in the fourth and the sixth
games. The Americans cashed on his rivals lone serve in the eighth game. Young had a strong dominance over his opponent, in the end he nudged up and consolidated a 6-3 score.
The 31-year-old, Rochus, had a relatively weaker first serve accuracy of 54 percent, with 10 of 13 first and four of 11 second serve points. He was unable to attain even a single serve break and his competitor secured the only
one bestowed on him. The American professional fired four aces and did not commit a single double fault. He attained the lead as he bagged home 80 percent initial serve precision with 16 of 20 first and four of five second serve points.

stages of the second set, a series of serve breaks witnessed. The American junior took a flying start towards the end and terminated the match by clinching the last two games with a 6-4 win.
