  1. We do give to March of Dimes.  Also Easter Seals, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Connecticut Children's Hospital.

Edit:  Sorry, I forgot one very close to my heart (literally)

I always put money in the Ronald McDonald House boxes.

Believe it or not this money is actually used for the purpose of helping people. Proven by the fact that when I had my heart surgery when I was 14, in Syracuse NY, my mother didn't have money for a hotel to stay in while I was in the hospital for a week, and they put her up in a hotel that was close enough I could see it from my room and we could send light signals to each other.

  2. I would suggest donating to a children's home near where you live.  Generally, they aren't big organizations, and are grateful for any help they can get.  If it's one close to where you live, you could even visit and see what a difference your money is making.

  3. St. Jude Hospital or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
