Recently, i cleaned out my closet and i came across a ton of clothes that don't fit me anymore and that i just don't want. i'm usually a pack-rat so there was a lot of stuff that i'm a little sad to get rid of but need to. here's the thing, i want to donate it to the salvation army so it will go to good use but i was wondering how? are there any guidelines or do you just bag it and bring it over?

  1. Just bag it and call for a pick up or take it over there. Obviously they prefer it to be reasonably clean and in wearable condition but they don't check at the drop off.

  2. Usually bag it and drop it off,but if you have a local phone number for the salvation Army you might try that.

  3. You just bag up the things you want to donate and drop it off.  The one I went to have a drive through area, and all I did was drove in and they took the bags out for me.  And I definitely know what you mean about being sad.  I just don't know why even if I haven't worn them in years, I still feel attached, lol.  But look on the bright side, now there's more room for new things.

  4. Just bag it up, and give them a call, or take it to them.

  5. I'm a pack rat too-- I understand! Yes, just bag it up in sturdy trash bags.

Some areas have salvation bins (like in the parking lots of grocery stores fro example) or perhaps you can bring it right to the store.

Not all places take donations at the store, however, so I'd call first. Some stores also have rules about dropping off after hours, so ask about that too. Happy cleaning!
