Question:

Done with FAFSA, now what?

I sent my application i got my SAR, my efc is 479......is my school going to contact me or do i have to contact them? They should have my info, i only listed one school code.

Oh yeah and i plan to do WORK STUDY, but im not sure how it works is it a good idea?

  1. Work study is an excellent idea.  Just be sure you realize you are responsible for finding your own job on campus.  Some schools have a lot more students than they do jobs so you might want to start looking early.  Often the job openings will be listed on their website.

    Contact your school and ask what additional paperwork you need to fill out.  Schools always have additional paperwork besides the fafsa.  Most of the time you can print the forms right off the schools website so you don't have to wait for something in the mail.

    BTW: with an EFC of 479 you will get a Pell grant (free money) of $4,281 (half in the fall and half in the spring) if you attend full time and all the info is correct on your SAR.  You may even qualify for other federal grants and will likely even be offered a subsidized student loan if you want one.
