Donna Barton Brothers join Starlight Racing as the Chief Operating Officer
Former jockey and now a horse-back riding reporter and analyst, Donna Barton Brothers, has now been named the chief operating officer for Starlight Racing.
Born April 20, 1966, Donna Barton Brothers as a jockey went on to win over 1100 races, and with her ever changing career prospects within the industry, has made her one of the most decorated female jockeys of her time.
Born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Donna Barton Brothers retired as jockey in 1998, and she is till ranked second on the money list with 1,130 career wins.
Barton Brothers is married to Starlight’s bloodstock agent, Frank Brothers, according to the announcement will take up her role as the chief operating officer for Starlight Racing soon and work with Jack Wolf and Donnie Lucarelli, who are the existing partners.
She will not give up her responsibilities of her previous work with NBC and TVG while working with Starlight Racing.

Starlight Racing have throw out a serious talent this year, but their biggest disappointment regarding the talent this year was the early contender of the Grade 1, $2 million Kentucky Derby, Algorithms, who defeated the 2-year-old champ, Hansen, in the Grade
3 , $400,000 Holy Bull Stakes, but had to be sidelined because of an injury that he incurred.
Starlight Racing also owns one of their top 2011 earners, Hilda’s Passion, who wreaked havoc at the track and won four stakes races including her best performance in the Grade 1 Ballerina Stakes.
The stable has also campaigned one of their proud runner, Ashado, who went on to become a two time Eclipse Award winner, and got sold to a then-record high price $9 million.
