George opened his record for the first time in the professional boxing world by winning technical knockout decision over Nathan Wilkes at Hawthorne Race Course in the US in 2004.
After winning 18 consecutive fights, George faced the first loss of his career in a bout against Francisco Sierra at the Buffalo Run Casino in Oklahoma, United States in 2010.
The 26-year-old, super middleweight, Taylor has fought 19 fights in total. He has won 15 of his fights which include 6 by the way of a knockout. He has three losses and one draw in his career as well.
It was his third consecutive loss in his professional career by George. Taylor faced the first loss of his career in the United States in 2004. The fight was against Henry Humphrey at the Michael’s Eighth Avenue, Glen Burnie, Maryland, United States.
It was observed from the very beginning that Taylor was impressive. He tried to dominate the fight by putting pressure on George. However, in the first round, George was looking to adjust himself into the ring. Taylor was continuously hitting and targeting
him with straight right hands and hooks to his body but George displayed an impressive counter-attack in response.
The middle rounds turned out in the favour of George because Taylor could not keep the same pace to upset George. In the sixth round Taylor was caught by George around the ropes, when George landed a combination of punches to his body.
George maintained his stamina until the eighth round. Taylor went down to his knees in the blue corner of the ring as a result of receiving numerous right hooks to the body and then a powerful right hand sent Taylor down for an 8 count. Because Taylor was
not able to continue this fight more, the referee Genaro Rodriguez called the bout off. Afterwards, Thomas Treiber announced the name of George as the winner of the fighting combat.
After winning the title, George said, “Well, leading up to the knockout, Taylor was boxing very well. He’s a very slick southpaw, I give him credit, at the end of the day, I was in great shape and I knew I was going to get that knockout.”
