Donovan McNabb returns to Philadelphia with 17-12 win
Although he may not have lit up the scoreboard, Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb and his team did enough to make the former  Phildelphia Eagles quarterback's return to Philadelphia a happy
one as the Redskins won 17-12.
First half
The Redskins started strong by scoring on their first possession which was all setup by an impressive 53-yard punt return by Brandon Banks. McNabb then had no trouble leading the Redskins 39 yards on just
three plays capped off by a 12-yard run to the end zone by Ryan Torain.
The Redskins then scored on their second possession when McNabb led the Redskins all the way up the field before throwing a 31-yard strike to tight end Chris Cooley to make it 14-0.
Things then got even worse for the Eagles when on their next possession, driving through Redskin territory, a scrambling Michael Vick was sandwiched between two defenders. Vick had to leave the game with
a chest injury which paved the way for Kevin Kolb.
Second Half
After trading field goals before the end of the first half, the third quarter was mired in stalled drives which led to each side struggling for field position.
It wasn't until midway through the fourth quarter, with the score 17-6 in favor of the Redskins, that the Eagles were handed a lifeline. Kolb, who started the year as the Eagles starting QB but was replaced
by Vick after week one when he went down with a concussion and Vick's strong play won him the starting job, then led the Eagles on a nine-play, 65-yard scoring drive, capped off by a 5-yard pass to tight end Brent Celek. The two-point conversion failed and
although Kolb was able to lead one last drive into Redskin territory at the end of the game, his Hail Mary pass on the last play was intercepted in the end zone.
Game analysis

Although he received mixed reactions from Eagles fans, McNabb can now put it all behind him and be satisfied that his team got the win. "
The relief I got was that this is over, that the whole hoopla and coming back to Philadelphia is over," McNabb said. "You realize you spent 11 years here and I knew it was coming," McNabb said. "I didn't
expect them to cheer the whole game. That wouldn't be right. I was happy with the way they gave me a standing ovation at the beginning."
The Redskins snapped a two-game losing streak with the win and host the Green Bay Packers next week. For the Eagles the big news is now the speculation over what will happen with their quarterback situation
as they wait for updates on the status of Michael Vick. The Eagles travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers in next week's Sunday nighter.
