Donovan wants Everton return
American star Landon Donovan says he wants to return to the Premier League and have a long career with Everton.
Donovan's exploits during the World Cup have led to rumours linking him with a move to a number of clubs ahead of the domestic season in many different countries.
Donovan spent a part of last season on loan at Everton. He played very well during this spell and score goals and showed the form that everyone has known he is capable of. It seems he is now seeking a move back to the club and away from the MLS, which is far behind many of the European leagues.

There would be many positives to Donovan moving back to Everton as he's already played there. However, there is no guarantee that he will get his club of choice and he could be forced to move to Germany or Italy if he wants to get out of America.
Back to Everton
If the player went back to Everton then there would be a high number of positives for both the club and the player. He is an extremely talented midfield and strike player who would add real quality to the Everton side for the start of the Premier League season.
He's already played at the club in the recent past and this would make the transition much easier. He will know the set-up and the lay out of the club and he would have made friends during his previous spell who could help him set-up permanently inside England.
He's got much more experience now than many people realize. He's played over 100 games in the MLS and has spent other loan spells at the likes of German clubs Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. This means he will not find the pace of English football difficult.
He said: "I would love to go back to Everton. I love the people there and I love the fans there. But that said, I love being in America too, so we are going to take everything into account and see where it ends up."
Different Options
Donovan has a number of options in front of him that he will have to weigh up. A number of other clubs are interested in him and there is no indication that Everton are going to make any real effort to re-sign him.
This means that if he really does want to move his career up to the next level then it may not be Everton who he has to join. There has bee nothing from the club in terms of rumours or news, which suggests that they want him.
He added: "Anything is possible at this stage and I'm going to make the decision that's best for me. We hear little bits and pieces here and there and there have certainly been clubs that are interested, but right now, it's only preliminary. There's still a lot of time left in the transfer window, so we'll see what moves are made and, if it's serious, then we'll treat it seriously."
Betting Advice
Donovan would add to the Everton team and he could make a telling difference, but the side would still not stand a chance of winning the Premier League and will remain an outside bet for any success in a domestic competition.
The American has always scored goals because of the attacking positions that he plays in. Don't be afraid to have a punt on him during a few games next season if he does make a move to a European league.
